Sadly we note the recent death of current and long-time member ELLIS SHIER - an MG enthusiast. Ellis passed away on 17th November 2025 at the age of 95. Thank you to daughter Kate Lewis - his driver to some more recent events - for this information. Our thoughts are with her and the Ellis family. Kate's contact details - ring Di or Paul.

Very large annual gathering of classic cars. Free public display.

All MGs (club members and others) are welcome to join our MG area; the more the merrier!! This will be a fun day.

Timaru

Meeting from 8am with briefing and scrutineering.

Timed track events - standing 1/4 mile, autocross, 2 x m/khana events on seal, full circuit sprints.

For some a MG weekend together in Timaru; for others a great day trip to be part of our 'MG exclusive' event. "The "BEST" day's fun on four wheels."

Entry: Open to all MGCC members driving a road legal MG (Wof & registered). Otago Club members very welcome.

Entry is $95.00/driver for MG Club members. $110/driver for non- members. (Levels & Motorsport NZ charges). Payment to club act 02-0865-0020158-00. Incl. name & 'Levels'.

A daytime indoor/outdoor celebratory get-together with 'A's, 'GT's and 'F's - but all MGs obviously very welcome. Also Concours judging - all MG models. Intentions are that you will be encouraged to dress and picnic in the period of your car! A good time is assured! Watch for more details.

Welcome!

The MG Car Club Canterbury Centre has its roots in the original 'MG Car Club of New Zealand', formed in 1952 when many of the country's motorsport enthusiasts drove our favourite marque in the shape of TCs, TAs, Ps and Js.

From those early beginnings the NZ Club has devolved into four major Centres, two in the North Island and two in the South. Each of these Centres is autonomous, organising competitive and social events for members within its regions. Like the 'Crusaders' our region includes Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast as well as Canterbury. There are also a range of inter-Centre and national activities you are able to enjoy. And of course, if you are visiting another region you will be most welcome to participate in any of their events, competitive or social.

Like most MG Clubs around the world we are affiliated to the MGCC UK ensuring access to badging, logos and so on. We also maintain regular contact with a number of Centres in NZ, Australia, the US and the UK to help ensure we offer the best possible benefits and MG enjoyment for all of our members.
