POSTPONEMENT of ASTRONOMY EVENING

The Astronomical Society have let us know that the weather tonight, sadly, is NOT going to be conducive to star gazing.

Accordingly tonight (Wed. 19th August) is POSTPONED.

We have been offered a backup night of Wednesday September 9th. While we have yet to confirm this date you might like to pencil it in as a possibility on your calendar.

Sorry about this - the weather was looking hopeful but ....

QUICK REMINDERS

1. We sadly note the passing of long time Club member, office holder, Life Member and MG enthusiast DREN ERRINGTON.

We will very much miss Dren's MG knowledge, and the warmth of his friendship. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Di and family.

As in Dec. 8th Press notice: "As per Dren's wishes, a private family service has been held. A memorial service to celebrate Dren's life and the Marque of Friendship will be held at The Vines Club, 651 Pound Rd, Yaldhurst, on August 22, at 2.00pm. Please feel free to bring your MG."

SUN. 23rd AUGUST - VCC NZ Daffodil Run

Nationwide classic and vintage car event organised by the Vintage Car Club. A series of short & long runs starting at 5 locations (below), all finishing at the VCC grounds at McLeans Island. Runs leave each location between 10.00 and 10.30am.

Afternoon Public Display at McLeans Island from 12.00pm. Coffee available at start points & BBQ lunch can be purchased at VCC Grounds. $10 Vehicle Entry – all fees donated to the local Cancer Society.

MMM Run - 'Over-nighter' to Hanmer

$160 - $180 per room. 2 rooms remain available.

Book directly with Andy at the motel and identify as MG Car Club members.

On this occasion those on the run will all be staying at the Drifters Inn as we will be dining-in, using their lovely lounge with open fire.

Simple lunch of soup, roll, tea and coffee en route at the Greta Valley Tavern. Mulled wine on arrival in Hanmer and takeaway evening meal (probably fish and chips, coleslaw) included in the cost of $40p.p. (t.b.c.).
