NOTICES & CALENDAR

1. !! A CHANGE - this Wednesday !!

With changed circumstances the MMM Run is now a short distance run from the Cashmere Club - NOT Yaldhurst Tavern as in an earlier Events calendar. Morning tea stop in Lyttelton and picnic near Sumner. (See Wed 15th April below)

2. With current petrol availability concerns please check Sporty Notices and the Club homepage for any changes to the nature of coming events. Hopefully there will be none, but these are uncertain times.

3. Note: If using the 2026 MG Calendar (each month has a colour club photo) April is printed without a 19th!! so the rest of April days and dates are wrong - i.e. are one day out!

4. Richmond Club - annual membership is now due. It is not an MG Car Club requirement but can get drink discounts on club nights, and is required for any drinks from the main R.C. bar. $15 if over 60, otherwise $30. Renewal can be quickly done on line, or at the R.C. office or bar.

A short relaxed drive to café morning tea in Lyttleton, then through the tunnel and towards Sumner to our picnic stop - lunch is inside so weather will not be a problem. An easy and informative run. BYO picnic lunch or pick up en route.

An outdoor/indoor celebratory get-together with 'A's, 'GT's and 'F's - but all other MGs etc. obviously VERY welcome - this is a full club outing. A fun time is assured!

** While certainly not required, you are encouraged to think about dressing and picnicking in the period of your car!

In the Barn - where we are likely to have morning tea and picnic lunches - we will have The MG Band playing the old favourites - something special!

* GUIDELINES FOR CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE .. all MG models

Do consider entering your car in the Concours ... let others see your car presented at its finest. It may not win, but others will appreciate the chance to admire it! Concours entries not needed in advance.

Guidelines - the first 2 guidelines are:

All cars must be driven to their respective Concours positions.
Cars should be presented with hoods up and driver’s side screen removed, or window down. Bonnets, boots or side screen boxes should be left open for judging, and tool kits should be displayed in front of the car.

Welcome!

The MG Car Club Canterbury Centre has its roots in the original 'MG Car Club of New Zealand', formed in 1952 when many of the country's motorsport enthusiasts drove our favourite marque in the shape of TCs, TAs, Ps and Js.

From those early beginnings the NZ Club has devolved into four major Centres, two in the North Island and two in the South. Each of these Centres is autonomous, organising competitive and social events for members within its regions. Like the 'Crusaders' our region includes Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast as well as Canterbury. There are also a range of inter-Centre and national activities you are able to enjoy. And of course, if you are visiting another region you will be most welcome to participate in any of their events, competitive or social.

Like most MG Clubs around the world we are affiliated to the MGCC UK ensuring access to badging, logos and so on. We also maintain regular contact with a number of Centres in NZ, Australia, the US and the UK to help ensure we offer the best possible benefits and MG enjoyment for all of our members.
