1. Avid Classic Brit & Euro Car Show - tomorrow - Saturday

Local advertising is highlighting this event - many hundreds of cars parked according to marque on the grass fields outside the Wigram Air Museum hangars.

Free entry to classic cars and the public who come to see them. Bring your classic car and join the MG site.

As below: 7.15 is our gathering time for a 7.30 convoy through the Vickerys Rd gate - we are gathering in the adjoining Pilkington Way at 7.15am tomorrow.

(Minis, Morris, Leyland, Vauxhall, Fiats and others are similarly entering at 7.30 at various gates; other British and European marques entering at later 30 minute intervals).

This is the first of this annual event in ChCh - things will be more familiar in coming years but this is sure be a special day - surrounded by many hundreds of classics from UK & Europe, and having your car parked and on diplay with lots of other MGs.

SAT. 7th MAR. - Inaugural Brit & Euro Classic Car Show

Wigram Air Museum fields

Free public display. The organisers predict some 700 classic cars - and hopefully at least 30 of those will be ours - time will tell.

Cars must be on display from 10am - 3pm so earlier arrival* and slightly later departure for cars and drivers. Free entry to classic cars and to the public.

* The various car makes enter Wigram grounds at prescribed times. MGs (along with Morris, Minis, Fiats etc.) are to enter, together, at 7.30am - to be parked in our assigned area.

An early start but a special day - hopefully lots of members will bring their cars. We will gather at 7.15am in Pilkington Way - just away from our entry point on Vickerys Rd..

If late and before 9.30 you may be allowed entry at Vickerys Rd - this has not been stated by the organisers but seems sensible and likely? If you get in just make your way over to the MG area.

"Please have your driver's window open, as there are welcome packs we'll be handing to all display vehicles."

All (British/'classic') MGs are welcome to join our MG area; the more the merrier!! Bring a seat and lunch - or buy lunch.

The B&E Car Shows are huge, now well-established events in Well., Akld and Dunedin.

SAT. 28th MAR. - MG Track Day

Levels Raceway - Timaru

8am briefing and scrutineering.

Timed track events: standing 1/4 mile, autocross, 2 x m/khana events on seal, full circuit sprints.

For some an MG weekend together in Timaru; for others a great day trip to be part of our 'MG exclusive' event. "The "BEST" day's fun on four wheels."

Entry: Open to all MGCC members driving a road legal MG (wof & registered). Otago Club members very welcome.

Entry is $95.00/driver for Canterbury MG Club members. $110/driver for non- members. (Levels & Motorsport NZ charges). Payment to club act 02-0865-0020158-00. Incl. name & 'Levels'.

* Competitor name and car/ colour - and ... if going to the dinner on the Fri. night - Speights, Timaru.

Not driving? You will be welcomed warmly as an observer, and even more so if you can help with timekeeping, marshalling or similar.

A daytime indoor/outdoor celebratory get-together with 'A's, 'GT's and 'F's - but all MGs obviously VERY welcome. Also Concours judging - all MG models. You are encouraged to dress and picnic in the period of your car! A good time is assured! Watch for more details.
